Lafayette Police are looking for a suspect who they say robbed a convenience store at gunpoint. It happened around 7:20 pm Saturday at the Cracker Barrel convenient store at 409  East University Avenue. Lafayette Police Investigators say the suspect entered the store with a shirt pulled over his head and showed a handgun to demand money from the clerk. Police say he then fled the area on foot, traveling North, with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police say the clerk was not injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6'00" tall, heavy build and wearing a black jacket, tan pants, white shoes and a black New Orleans Saints hat.

Lafayette Police Detectives are encouraging anyone with information about the robbery or the identity of the suspect to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
