On September 19, 2013, at approximately 1:50 am, Lafayette Police responded to an armed robbery incident at an apartment complex (off campus), in the 200 block of Theatre Street.  The two male victims told officers they were between buildings in the complex when a black male with a bandana covering his face approached them.  The suspect produced a gun and demanded that the victims empty their pockets.  The suspect then fled the area on foot with property belonging to the victims.
The suspect is described as a black male, medium build, approximately 5’10” tall with short braids.  Neither victim was injured during the incident.
Lafayette Police Detectives are encouraging anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect to contact Lafayette City Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.

A separate robbery occurred a few nights ago at approximately 2a.m. in a nearby neighborhood where a cell phone was taken.  An arrest has been made in that incident.
