Lafayette, LA – On February 3, 2014, at approximately 3:50 am, Lafayette Police responded to an area hospital regarding an armed robbery victim.  The 20 year old male victim advised officers that he was walking to his vehicle in the 200 block of McKinley Street when a black male suspect approached him.  The suspect produced a handgun and robbed the victim of his phone and wallet.  After taking the property the suspect struck the victim twice in the head with the gun and fled the area. The suspect is described as a black male in his 50’s, approximately 6 foot tall wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt and dark long pants. The victim was later transported to the hospital and treated for his injuries.
Detectives are encouraging anyone with information about the robbery or the identity of the suspect to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
